Social Security faces an immediate threat at the deficit-reduction talks in Washington. There is a proposal on the table to cut the annual Social Security COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment).
President Obama told us when he was a candidate for President he would not cut Social Security benefits, including the COLA.
Here is President Obama in his own words. Call him right now and tell him to keep the promise – No cuts to Social Security benefits !

The current COLA is already too low because it does not account for rising health care costs, which hurt seniors and people with disabilities the most.
Now they want to make it even lower. Under the proposal, after 10 years the average benefit will be cut by about $600 a year. After 20 years the cut will be about $1,000 a year. The typical Social Security benefit is only $13,000 a year.

I’m calling to urge President Obama not to cut Social Security benefits. That includes no Social Security COLA cut.
Social Security has not contributed a penny to the deficit. Our earned benefits should not be cut to reduce the deficit.

Do not touch SS or Medicare. These safety nets have nothing to do with our deficits!! Take tax rates back to 1999, get out of other countries affairs, and get us back to where we should be. The GOP has turned into a bunch of fools over the past 30 years, Stand up to the and give the nothing!! With the exception of 4 or 5, there is not a single republican that cares more about their country than they do bout their money. Rise up and defeat them once and for all. NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER!!!!!!
I lost my job because of my age and was forced to take my Social Security. I was having trouble getting another job even with my experience. I have no other income and without my check from Social Security I could be out in the streets. God help us all and those of you that don't trust in him now, please give him a chance to help you get through this problem, no matter what may happen.
For those of you that trust in him pray like you never have before and God Bless all of us.
I am so sick of Obama. Is he a Democrat? I like to know why Republicans win all the time regardless if they have the presidency or not. Bush did everything he wanted, the illegal wars, torture, destroying our civil rights, and etc. Obama can't even save Social Security and Medicare? How much money is enough for Wall Street and at what cost? The new information is they secretely gave 16 trillion dollars to Wall Street of our money, and our money can't keep our Social Security and Medicare? We need a million march to save our Social Security. Don't call it entitlement becuase we are paying for it and it is our right to have it for us and not give it to Wall Street. We need to organize and demonstrate. I will not vote for Obama. He is Republican.
