Social Security Increase 2012...You Bet`Cha
Social Security Increase...
By : Don Jones = Underdog...10/20/11
Social Security recipients will receive a(COLA) cost of living adjustment of 3.6% starting in January 2012, their first raise in three years.Because inflation has been very low in recent years, beneficiaries have not seen an increase since 2009, when they received a 5.8% boost.
However, most seniors are not likely to receive the full amount of the increase because an expected hike in Medicare premiums could eat up part of the raise. The change in Medicare premiums, which could increase by a double-digit rate, is expected to be announced next month. Put it in one pocket and take it out of the other. You Bet`Cha !

“America must also once and for all face up to entitlement reform. To preserve benefits for current and near-term Social Security beneficiaries, my plan permanently stops politicians from raiding the program's trust fund. Congressional IOUs are no substitute for workers' Social Security payments. We should use the federal Highway Trust Fund as a model for protecting the integrity of a pay-as-you-go system.”
