Cong. Steve Cohen~District#9~Tennessee on Health Care

Cohen for Health Care ! Starts September 23, 2010

Dear Friend`s,

Today is the effective date for the historic and popular series of consumer protections under the Affordable Care Act, including what President Obama calls the Patient’s Bill of Rights. The Affordable Care Act was designed to put you, not the health insurance companies, back in charge of your health care. The Patient’s Bill of Rights will stop the worst insurance company abuses.

Under the new federal health reforms that take effect today:

Your health coverage cannot be arbitrarily cancelled if you become sick

Your child cannot be denied coverage due to a pre-existing condition

Your child up to age 26 can stay on your health plan

Your health plan cannot put a lifetime limit on your health coverage

Your health plan’s annual limits are phased out over three years

You have the right to key preventative services without deductibles or co-payments

You have the right to both an internal and external appeal

You have the right to choose your own doctor

You have the right to access out-of-network emergency room care at in-network cost-sharing rates

As always, I remain,

Most sincerely,

Steve Cohen
Member of Congress, District#9~Tennessee

Editorial : Thank You Congressman Cohen ! And the Republicans will repeal this ! I think not !
