Letter from Bob Corker (R) Tennessee
Dear Don,Thank you for taking the time to contact my office to share your thoughts about the rising costs of energy. Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts. I agree with you about the need to encourage domestic energy production, as both our national and economic security depend on our ability to diversify our energy supply so that we are less reliant on foreign sources of oil. Accomplishing this will require the expansion of our refinery capacity and enhancing oil and gas production in an environmentally friendly way. I was pleased to support the Domestic Energy Production Act of 2008, which would have opened up ANWR and the Outer Continental Shelf for oil and gas leasing. The amendment unfortunately failed, but I assure you I will continue to look for ways to increase our domestic energy production in an environmentally-friendly way. In addition, I have concerns about the potential upward pressure speculators could be having on prices, and I am digging into the issue further to determine how to appropriately address speculation in the market.Thank you again for your letter. I appreciate your input and the insight you have given will certainly help me and my staff as we continue to look for ways to increase our domestic energy production and address the rising costs of energy.
Sincerely, Bob Corker (R)
United States Senator Tennessee
Editorial : I actually wrote him about market speculation. I also wrote Senator Lamar Alexander (R)Tennessee, He does`nt bother to answer me, ever ! I`m not sure who is running against Alexander, but it does`nt matter, I will vote for whomever it is. Senator Alexander has become so arrogant, his opinion is the only one that counts ! The oil problem is all about opening ANWR, at least to the Republicans. They seem obsessed with it !
"Saving America" "Getting rid of Lamar Alexander" !
